"Indy Rides Again" or "Cue the Main Theme"

It's been19 years since Indy last rode into the sunset with his main theme thundering away. I haven't seen the new movie yet and I'm trying to not have any expectations. I haven't been a big fan of Harrison Ford or any of his movies since he pierced his ear...and now he's been busy WAXING HIS CHEST to promote rainforest awareness. (Pbhttt. Like there isn't enough of THAT going around and frankly I'm not going to tell a starving populace who wants to clear land to farm how to run their lives while I sit fat and comfy here in Liberalandia USA.) Oh Indy. You used to be such a man's man.

ANYWAY...the new soundtrack came out today...and it is made of awesome. I squeeeeed when Marion's theme first appeared in the main overture (Ah Marion...you were hands down the best of the best Indy girls and how I've missed you.) I'm a little puzzled that the McGuffin of the movie's theme seems to be the theme of the first one...namely the arc motif. I'll be interested in seeing the movie and seeing how the audio actually plays out.

It's a good score. Vintage Williams and I'm not going to be tired of this one for a good long while.

I'm confused as to what waxing a chest has to do with the rainforest.

Don't you get it? Harrison Ford's graying chest-hair is a vital resource! By clear-cutting it, he is denying us thousands of possible, new medical remedies and other innovations... and killing untold thousands of uncategorized species. HOW CAN HE DO THAT!?!?

(I don't get it either... meh. Celebrities and their causes)

while I don't agree/care bout the cause he's working for his message is simple and stated quite clearly stated in the commercial. Pulling hair, like cutting down rainforests hurts. pulling hair hurts the physical person *rip OUCH* like cutting down rainforests hurts the planet. The message was not only clear, it was crystal skull clear.

Regarding the rainforest: from what I understand (aka not much), its not how they farm, but what they farm. Clearing rain forest to grow a cash crop like coffee which doesn't actually give you enough money to feed that starving family seems inferior to planting edible foods within the forest canopy.
But what do I know. When I tried to use this argument to get my grandpa to stop drinking coffee, he yelled back at me about how the wheat my Dad grows is a cash crop, too.

I have a secret hope that this movie will inspire the re-release of the Raider of the Lost Ark soundtrack, which has been out of print – on CD! – for nearly a decade now. One can still track down imports ($39) or used domestic CDs ($69); I just want a nice $9.99 iTunes copy.

Yeah...but, sorry dude, your opinion is circumspect:

1. You hate everything.
2. You actually liked Transformers which was a junk drawer in motion.

you're such a negative nelly, how do you live like that?

1. I do hate everything! (irony) if people were more dicriminating with their tastes and didn't accept the crap that's out there'd be less crap movies out there.

2. and yes I did like tranformers, I wanted to see giant robots blow stuff up and hear peter cullens voice on the big screen. I got exactly what I paid for! I never said it was a good movie simply that I liked it. Do you not undestand the difference?

3. You liked superman returns and to date it's STILL never turned a profit while transformers more than doubled it's return so you wanna argue taste Majority rules!. At least my good tastes are shared!

I never said anything negative in your blog and you immediately jump to defensive.

Would you like that I not reply in your LJ I'd be happy to not if it's just going to upset you. I was simply agreeing with you that the soundtrack was good!
