"Color Codes" or "Rainbow Blatherings"

I am sitting in my ward's family home evening and we are going through The Color Code. It's kind of fun but since I have taken the test a bazillion times I'm find a lot of this a little repetitive.

My color code notes:
My color code notes:

The numbers may vary a little bit but I always come out the same.
For those of you who are unfamilar with the Color Code, it works as follows: Each color = equals a prime motivator.

Yellow = Fun
Red = Power
Blue = Intimacy
White = Peace

Reds and Blues are the "power colors." The hardest combination is a Red/Blue... which is my parents. They really do speak two different languages. Reds and Blue fight with logic and emotion. For the people who have these two as their primary colors, they've got a lot of internal struggle. "DO X...it's the logical thing to do!" "But...so and so might be urt!"

All my best, most intimate friends have been blues and whites.

Apparently I always want to go to Disneyland. I can not argue with this.

*I have to pay attention to myself with red being my secondary color. I got into a fight the other week with Lisa and she shouted at me, "HOW COME YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO BE RIGHT?!" This guy is talking right now about how a lot of elementary teachers are blues. My mom is a blue and a former elementary teacher. He talks about how they will spend hours and hours on a bulletin board...which is knock your socks off...but if someone compliments it they will say, "Oh, it would have been better if only I had done "x."" HAH! So true! My mom is a blue.

Now he is blathering about how women are more blue. Alright. Now I am irritated since I have known some strong male blues..and I thought in the book it's stressed that colors do NOT equal gender and should not be equated and then he goes on and generally says how unhealthy blues are!

****
NOTE: I just stood up and called him on his sexism. Go me.

"Uh, have you heard of sarcasm?"
"You just implied that blue was a more feminine color...and then congratulationed a blue male on being mentally healthy and he was the first one (mentally healthy) you'd met."

Pause.

Me: "I would watch it."

My youngest brother is a white. He's hard to rile up and always moves along at an even keel. You can not make him do something he does not want to do. It is like pushing an unconscious elephant up a hill on rollerskates. The moment you quit pushing it's mass is going to just roll right over you and back to the bottom of the hill.

Lisa is also a white.

Whites are passive aggressive. Whites do not need constant stimulation.

"Whites put their head on the pillow at night means `it's dark!' That's what it means! When it's dark we go to sleep, we'll do it all again tomorrow."
Whites get angry at themselves for not standing up for themselves....and eventually the white will explode at sometimes non related things. They do not like to explain things...that = conflict. Conflict = BAD.

to FEEL good inside
to be given SPACE
to be RESPECTED
to be ACCEPTED
to WITHHOLD insecurities
to please SELF & OTHERS
to be independent
Contentment

Whites are chameleons...because they adapt to everyone else around them. "I DID answer you...just not verbally."
"Rivers know this: There is no hurry, we shall get there someday." -Winnie the Pooh
