Sitting in my room with some lamps and a few candles flickering. Soundtrack Saturdays is playing. One of my not so guilty pleasures, it runs from 8:00 to midnight and plays Broadway and TV showtunes. Most of the selections are pretty safe...I mean it is for a broad Utah audience so plenty of Rodgers and Hammerstein and anything before 1960. You rarely get anything slightly edgy or complex...and every week there are a zillion selections from Phantom, Miss Saigon and Wicked. Sigh.

Tonight though they did actually play "A Little Priest" from Sweeney Tood though so props to them for that. I prefer the Angela Lansbury/George Hearn combo though...they were actually crazy and insane. Patti LuPone...as BJ puts it so well...plays Mrs. Lovett as if she's too in love with her own voice. You're not *scared* of her at all.

Anyway, despite my carping, I do enjoy Soundtrack Saturdays especially as I sit and work on my storyboards. It's finally starting to coalesce in my mind. Got a lot of revisions to do to the story but it's all in the name of improvement. As Ellen would constantly say, "It's good story. It's not a *great* story yet." Sigh.

For what I want...it's got to be terrific!

It has been a productive day. Blitz cleaned my place (didn't vacuum, boo,) ran a few errands (toilet paper is a necessity) and later went to F'ton to see the padres and work on my niece's birthday present. Thanks much to my mom for her pattern and sewing machine and help. I'm awfully proud of them. I am the best aunt EVAAAH!!!

What a Sunday. The skies are crystal clear (5th cleanest in the nation) and it's 84°. Disc golf in the yard and scored an ace from the street, but that's not saying much.

Spring cleaning is in the air! You know it's spring when your nostril hairs pick themselves.

For all the avid readers of Jett's life, here's something I cooked up a while ago and it's helped me superbly: http://db.etree.org/charmap.html

I really like your figure drawings, and cartoons. I was wondering, how do you start to draw the figure when you are just drawing from life? Do you start with the head or the body or the spine? Any tips for life drawing you would like to pass along? I've been drawing for 19 years, but I seem to have reached an impass, so I am looking for suggestions.
