Can't kill em! You have to live with them in your home for a YEAR.
Jul. 13th, 2006 10:13 pm (UTC)
oh man, can they be milked for goat's milk and making cheese?
Jul. 13th, 2006 10:21 pm (UTC)
Mmm. . . Goat cheese, plus no mowing the lawn for a year and no garbage disposal. Plus at year end, we have a monumental feast.

oh yah...that is what I am talking about...

ZAKLY my thinking. Goats have skillz, whereas cats, meh. Cats are more like managers.

The last two weeks of the year will involve fire-pit digging and roasting-spit raising. Oh, and the collection of fire wood. OH, and the simmering of sauces.

We will invite some cats to the feast, maybe.

Normally when a quiz like this has checkboxes instead of a radio buttons, I select both. But I'm allergic to cats.

Goats, on the other hand, are vegetarian. Like me.

Goats are smelly.
And they won't use a litter box.

Incase you couldn't figure mine out... ;-)

Hmmm. Free milk, cheese, and hair for thread. A trimmed lawn and no garbage, although I'd have to keep my laundry out of reach.

Me loves the kitties, but me mighty allergic; 50 would probably make breathing stop altogether, meds or no meds.

the year of no sleep
Okay, here's the thing- cats: the hair would be everywhere. The litter boxes would be everywhere. You would NEVER be able to sleep because you'd have cats walking on you at all hours of the night, and then wanting to be fed at 5am... You could never stop cleaning.

goats: EVEN WORSE! They CLIMB and JUMP on everything. They EAT and CHEW on everything. There might not be the hair like there would with 50 cats, but they aren't ever going to be box trained. Your furniture would be destroyed- there would be hoof dents on your wooden surfaces...

I'll take the cats. At least your house can recover from them.

Living in an apartment that doesn't allow pets makes this tricky :-) However, if I had a house, as much as I love kitties, I'd go with the goats...even if we had to share house space. Milk, cheese, makings for a future yurt.
By the way, this is a strange question. LOL!

Why not milk the cats?

jk. Really.

Cats. Mostly because goats are so much more destructive than cats. They poop where they stand (and they only give milk if they give birth, remember that!) And they spook. And they are loud.

And the cats you can lock in one room. Mwahahaha

Well now, is either one really a responsible choice?
I love cats, but...I suppose if they were properly caged, they wouldn't be spreading Feline Leukemia, but I can't keep up with 50 kennels. Plus my city has a bylaw that a person can't have more than 4 cats in their home.
I don't know if we have a rule about goats... If they were appropriately fenced, perhaps I could manage...
Goats it is... I guess

Well now, the point of questions like this isn't about being responsible. The "would you rather" questions are usually about putting forth two HORRIBLE options and trying to weigh out which would be less awful. Honestly- didn't the question just make you cringe?? THAT was the real point. The answers are secondary. ;)

Re: Responsibility...

I still choose goats. :).
