"Chicago: Day II" or "FREAKS!"

Had a wonderful day yesterday.

BJ greatly enjoyed Superman Returns and we spent our train ride back discussing various aspects of the movie. Sure, there are nitpicks but considering what the movie COULD HAVE BEEN...as BJ says, "You just can't ask for a better way to bring Superman back." Indeed. Think I'll have to see it again. And again. Yeah. :)

We stopped at the cafe again ... (I've discovered espressos minus the espressos are wonderful things... I had one called "The Grasshopper" which tasted like a really rich mint chocolate chip," and then we went to the beach to look at clouds, other people and discuss our various futures. I've told him about some of my "hair brained schemes" and he told me of frustrations and insecurities he had... it was just exceedingly pleasant to spend so much time with such a valued "kindred soul."

Off to see "SIDESHOW" a musical about freaks...specifically Daisy and Violet Hilton...the "two headed songbird."

The concept...GREAT..the acting...incredible...the music and storyline..pretty meh. It felt rather slow moving. Well...I've seen it once. :)

We've had a lazy start to the day... we stayed up too late eating bowls of ice cream and watching Space Mutiny...a Mystery Science Theater of howling proportions. I am especially bemused they used footage from the original Battlestar Galactica for their "space scenes."

Now we're back at the cafe, checking our respective emails... I just had a chocolate caramel espresso...minus the espresso. It tastes like a melted Caramello...so...pretty darn chocolately good. :)

I think we're going to continue to have a bit of a lazy day...I hope to go back to the beach and watch the waves roll in.

Hmm, espresso hold the espresso ... I've never thought of that!! I can't STAND anything about coffee (the taste, the smell, EWWWW) so I'd never considered there might be an alternative not named Tea. :)

I suppose that's what the steamed milk shots are all about... hmmm.

Glad to read you're having a good time. I love Chicago! It's a place we'd consider living if we moved to a big city. Keep having a blast!
