There's a fellow who has decided to eat Monkey Chow for a week. Y'know...just to see.

Fascinating stuff. He's doing video diaries, poop reports...the works. Apparently all sorts of scientists are checking in as well on his progress during the experiment. As of today I believe he has 2 days left.

(I watched the diaries first and just listening to his accent I thought, "He's Canadian!" Yup. Thanks Canada for your willingness to be human guinea pigs. Or in this case...human monkeys. Huh.)

You know, maybe it's just the way they are portrayed in the media, but I think Canadian culture reflects a real willingness to try things that are going to make people look silly without really caring that they look silly.

It's awesome.

It's a bit gross, but how interesting!

I just like saying "Monkey Chow"!

Not all Canadians are quite so open...

While training my dog, the trainers suggested putting the dog treats in your mouth so the dog looks at your face instead of down at your hands. (It works amazingly well btw.) While in a grocery store a particular flavour of dog treat was selected for me, I said, "No, I don't like that flavour. Here, this one's better" and I grabbed another type. Surprisingly, I got plenty of odd looks. ;) Not every Canadian subsists on monkey chow and doggie treats.... but I might. ;)
