The first major order of business was to get MarkB succesfully fed and watered. He requested Mexican (apparently latino food is a bit of a rarity in New Zealand,) and later we had ice cream at Mitchells. It was fun to roam around and see a few of the sights.
He truly didn't have that long of a layover and before we knew it we were heading back to the airport. We dropped him off, (poor, poor boy.) and I quipped to him that I'd see him the next day.
Lisa and I then headed to watch the waves roll in at the beach. As is its wont the weather had turned nasty so it was really something to watch the water come crashing in. It was stormy and waves were black and white and the air was thick with potential. Cue the stinging rain and progressive darkness and we bolted back for the car and then drove for home.
Note: Lisa lives a hop skip and a jump from a thai place.
Dinner was excellent and I honestly don't remember falling asleep.
today. Lunch with gigiss!
