Leaving the House Roughly 11:00
It's a chilly morning but you can see he's delighted to go.
Less than 2 miles from his house I got gas and reset the odometer. He was excited that we were going to be able to see how many miles we were going to drive that day. (Answer: A LOT.) First stop...Grandma and Grandpa Atwood!
"Nuts" or "My nephew is WEIRD."
It's equally cold in the north country but after all the driving maybe he wanted to be outside. Having finished with his McDonald's french fries we picked up a few miles out from Grandma's he wanted some of Grandma's nuts and wanted to eat them outside on my folks deck. I made him wear his coat. Silly boy.
Grandpa can make anything!
On the way to my folks my nephew mentioned that he thought he was like my dad because he liked to make things and was interested in science as well. We tromped down to the cottage where my dad was putting in shelves he had built. My dad is standing on his workbench, (he's tall but he's not THAT tall.)
Fortunately for me and Sam we got there BEFORE my dad took his tumble. Poor dad. He's really going to break his neck one of these days.
Well, hopefully NOT... none of us kids and especially my MOM would want to deal with the aftermath of THAT.
Anyway, Sam and I were dutifully impressed. Doncha love my dad's Jeb Clampett hat?
We picked up the pajamas my mom had made for 2 of Sam's siblings and we were off!
