I did have Big Fun at wyckhurst's house though the day before. I got the pool cleaned for S & O and had fun watching them splash around. I wish I could have hung out there more. Sooze really has gone to town taking apart her kitchen. I can't wait to see it when she gets done!
Anyway, today was the start of Farmington Festival Days. It had been a fair bit since I had really gone but I decided to check out the parade with my folks and boy has it gone downhill. I would say there were 3-4 bonafide FLOATS...the rest were pickup trucks with some company on the side and a few rinky US flags stuck in. It was really embarassing. I told dad it reminded me of the pre-show at work. How many stupid ads do you have to sit though before you get to a fun feature? Feh.
The Farmington Fire rages on:
The much better show was watching the helicopters and bombers go by. One of the choppers looked like it was reloading it's water drop off the pond at Lagoon! THAT'D be interesting to watch.
It was really spooky heading down to Main and State and looking back. It was the first time I'd really been able to see just how MUCH MOUNTAIN was blackened and charred. I had left yesterday in the morning when the smoke was still hovering over our view of the mountain and when I got home last night it was dark so I really couldn't see the devastation. Just nuts...and boy, it's going to be a while before it's anything like it used to be. (xenologue, be glad you snapped a FEW pictures up Farmington canyon cuz it ain't there no' mo'.)
When we got back to the house I was hit with the smell of smoke. Poor mom. And she just had the carpets cleaned. Our house smells like a smokers house!!!
