Off to the planetarium where we saw the star show with the new projection equipment...the first pitless planetarium in the world. Very cool. (parts of it. The animator in me was beyond horrifed at the extremely lousy 3D character animation. I'm not kidding. Holy cow, how did that EVER get approved?!?)
I got him some astronaut ice cream. He was very enthused.
We played in the fountain. "It takes like a swimming pool!" he said. Pause. "It takes GOOD!"
Off to Grandma and Grandpa's where he played in the sand, had dinner (French toast and Grandma's special homemade pears,) and then back to his family's house.
QUITE a busy day...and I had an absolute kick being an aunt.
I went back to the theater and we got our screening of Bruce Almighty. About this film I was not enthused. Looked dumb. Looked like Jim Carry doing his usual overacting job...and about that I was right. What I was NOT expecting was how many things hit close to home. Made me want to go home, fall on my knees and do some serious apologizing and some much better listening. Who'da thunk it from a Jim Carrey movie. Wow.
