"Drawin' right along" or "40 bucks? You've got to be kidding me!"

So far it has been a most productive day. I slept in feeling somewhat decadent. I ran a few errands and then headed to the North Country where I went to the Farmington Festival Days with my mom. We seemed to keep running into people we knew (shocking...a relatively small town at a town event? Who'd a thunk it?)

While there we stopped at one of my friend's booths. We were fairly good friends in Jr. High...high school we sort of drifted apart...but she now makes and sells quilts. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of how she uses color but considering how she practically gives the quilts away, who am I to nitpick? I certainly don't want to make and sell elaborate quilts.

Mom and I picked out a neat one...made of denim and camoflage fabric. We liked it because it wouldn't stain and we could use it outside. Mom enjoys nieces and nephews playing in the yard and this would be a good throw quilt.

My friend was selling it for a mere $40 but we payed her more than that for it. I told her she needed to start raising her prices. I know she sets her own prices but I would have felt like I was cheating her to buy it for that.

I've spent the rest of the day so far throwing myself into Red Sparrow. I set up a drawing session with parodypictures and we've been at it since 2:00. He just had to leave (needs to help his mom with something) and I have to take a break because my wrist hurts.

And how IS Red Sparrow, you might ask? Hopefully you'll know by Monday...I have gotten quite a bit of the remaining storyline drawn out... I am hoping by tonight I can have the drawing and inking done...and then I begin the rather laborious process of scanning them into Photoshop, cleaning them up and redoing the dialogue with a readable font. Some are somewhat effects heavy.

If all goes well though...I am hoping to have the majority of "The Great Chimpandillo Caper" wrapped up and we can move onto the next storyline in Red Sparrow's life. It's fun to reaquaint myself with the characters. They are somewhat mad at me for leaving them alone for so long.

"Naked Tuesday" or "Happy birthday ME!"

Knee! Birthday Naked Tuesday!

I'm rusty. I am so, so very rusty. But at least for the next 6 weeks...Naked Tuesday is back. This one was done on my birthday...happy birthday ME. My favorite part is the model's head had drifted just a wee bit between the breaks...not much but enough that things weren't working with the drawing...so with only a few minutes left I took a gulp and a breath and wiped out what I had and redid it... and to my delighted pleasure...it wound up being greatly improved and indeed a bit of a likeness. W00t!

Clickee the pic for the full drawing.

What do you think, sirs?
