Flying Ace

Saturday: The weekend so far.

Already it has been a most pleasant weekend.

Finally got to sit and watch Battlestar Galactica last night. I have missed more of the new season than I have seen but have tried to stay relatively caught up. Thank you TWOP.
One of my theories I have had since the pilot miniseries got semi vindicated.
"I KNEW IT!! I FRAKKING KNEW IT!!! Didn't I SAY THAT?!?!" I kept shouting at the TV.
"Yes..." my weary roommates who are used to my television outbursts sigh.

Plus in two weeks, Lucy Lawless guest stars.

My geek brain explodes with sheer pleasure.

After BSG I went for a run last night with the roommates and we charged, sprinting up 4th south, right by Incline Terrace where wyckhurst and sighted used to live. I mention this because they know that hill and therefore should be dutifully impressed. That was the START of our run. We didn't go far for distance after that but that hyper charge up that hill got my heart pounding in ways it hasn't pounded in MONTHS. Great capper to the evening.

Then I sat and tried to recreate as much of last Friday as I could possibly remember for my personal journal. It was ...quite a week... and one I feel I need to get down as well as I can. Also got down quite a bit of Saturday as well. I look at my watch right now and think that a week ago I was sitting on top of Mt. Tam gaping at a mind blowing view. How is it that was only a WEEK ago?

I woke up at 3:00 (of course,) and then woke up at 6:30. Decided to stay up at my scripture reading done for the day...I'm well into the Isaiah section of 2nd Nephi and then cleaned my room for a bit.

Around 9:00 or so, got Rachael and woke up Shelby (who did NOT want to get out of bed, but I told her if she didn't I would sing the "Dieter song" as loud as I could.) and we went for another run this morning. Not quite 2 not far, but not too bad. We're all relatively impressed with how well we are doing considering how disrupted our running schedule has been all summer. I haven't had a crazy good run since I was in Canada and did that 4 miler. Sheesh!

A good workout is a great way to start the day so Rachael and I have run several errands. We dropped off the last of Mary's stuff at her storage shed, dropped some stuff off at DI, checked out the Muai Thai place and then checked out the Rec Center 3 blocks from our house. We are MUCH more sold on the rec center. They have a pool (which opens at 5 AM) , a kickboxing class and if you're interested in that sort of thing, 2 sheets of ice and huh..."learn how to skate" classes for grownups. I am seriously tempted.

And yes...who knew...there is an adult hockey league 3 blocks from my house. Again, who knew?

Lunch where Rachael and I sat down and worked out a bit of a tentative schedule on classes we wanted to take and things we wanted to get accomplished in the fall. I am looking forward to the normalcy of a regular schedule again.

And now I am at the library, looking out towards the east from the 4th floor. I have quite a view of the mountains and the gleaming white "U."

I may need to go out to Farmington for a bit today...there may be an impromptu visit to Boise with my mom today. Something is wrong with Norton. I don't understand it all either.

Tonight I hope to sit down in my clean little den and watch episodes of Firefly.

Life is exceedingly pleasant.
