"Cleanse Update" or "Powers I don't want"

I had to make a quick stop to the grocery store.  Quick because the smells were overpowering.  I was surprised I was able to smell as well as I was...my head and nose have been running all day and I'm still feeling like I'm fighting a cold.  Most of the store smelled like really strong  powdered doughnuts.  I felt like suddenly my sense of smell was a superpower.

Actually most superheroes with "sensitive smell" ala Wolverine I just feel bad for.  I don't *want* to smell everything.

In other news I've had to make SO many runs to the bathroom today.

Ever since I got my nose broken (the night before my high school graduation, joy!) my sense of smell hasn't been all that great. To be honest I'm kinda glad of that, esp. considering how much time I spend in New York City taking the subway!! :}

Pregnancy heightens your sense of smell. But its amazing: you don't smell good things better, only bad things. I could still smell a chocolate cake, but not nearly as well as I could smell some guys B.O. a mile away. Its not fair.

I feel for you. Remember after I came home from my back surgery and even the "air" was so putrid I felt that it was choking me and then sweet stuff tasted bitter.

My sense of smell increased greatly when I started using soaps, toothpaste, and laundry soap that was truely perfume free. (As opposed to the ones with the perfume that is called "no scent".
