"Crunch time!" or "Silly clients!"

Tryin' not to panic.

I haven't had this much on my plate since I was in art school.  The sheer amount of animation I'm supposed generate between now and FRIDAY is mindboggling.  What's REALLY frustrating is the majority of it has to be in place merely to SHOW THE CLIENT.

So now I've got to do a rough (re: crappy) pass and go through the tedious process of getting it prepped and exported and ready for the scripters (which is also a chunk of time) instead of being able to do a really good job the FIRST time and have it all done by the 31st (which is our REAL drop dead date!)

Silly clients...go away and let us FINISH.

Silly clients? Good luck! I once created a project from the ground up, spent a full year on it, only to have childrens mercy hosptial drop it like it's hot, but not before my boss asked me to open my dev notes to them without warning me they'd reached such a bs decision behind my back.

My only advice is remember the iterative process for 95% of humanity begins with a baby step; don't blow your mind and energy out by trying to get it perfect on this too-short deadline. Have you talked w/ the client? Do you understand their level of understanding of your talent and work? Wow them now with a half-baked presentation so you can blow them out of the water with the finished production.

If there were a way to talk reasonably about this, don't you think I would have already done so?
